Estel

TET Estel (Tallinn Electrical Engineering Factory Estel) is an Estonian power electronics manufacturer in production since 1870. Its trademark is registered in 37 countries and its products are sold in more than 50. It has built over 6,000 aircraft ground power units.

For aviation it makes 400 Hz frequency converters (stationary, mobile and under-bridge), 28 V DC aircraft rectifiers, combined units with AC and DC output, zero-emission battery and diesel hybrid mobile ground power units, as well as apron power distribution columns and cable winding devices. It developed and supplied ground power units to special requirements for the Airbus A350 assembly line.

Every product is developed by its in-house design department, built in a 2,000 m² plant and tested at the factory’s own test station. Estel also handles design, installation, commissioning, after-sales service and staff training. All TET Estel operations are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Beyond aviation, Estel makes induction heating, electric transport, electric drive and power semiconductor products; constant current sources for CERN’s Large Hadron Collider are among them.
