Tunnel Transom

Light-weight aluminium tunnel transom for signs and all other types of traffic information and surveillance above the road in a tunnel. The light-weight construction enables fast and easy assembly.

The tunnel transom is isolated chemically from the mounting suspension, such that galvanic corrosion is prohibited. In addition it can be surface-treated to achieve maximal corrosion resistance. More information at the "Corrosion resistance" pane.

Product specifications

The Lattix® Tunnel Transom system can be used as support for signs, information and surveillance equipment or other applications in a tunnel. The system is delivered as a complete assembly including transom, brackets and end plates.

The mast element is tested and approved according to:

• EN 12899-1, Fixed, vertical road traffic signs
• EN 12767, Passive Safety of support of structures for road equipment

The Lattix® Tunnel Gantry can be surface-treated and powder-coated to all corrosion classes if desired.

Accessories

The Lattix® Tunnel Gantry is delivered pre-assembled and includes necessary connectors if not specified differently.

Variants

The Tunnel Transom can be adapted to the tunnel profile including widths and heights.

It can be surface-treated and powder coated to meet requirements of all corrosion classes.

Corrosion Resistance

Lattix Tunnel Transoms can be delivered in All corrosion resistance classes according to ISO 12944.

The material (aluminium) is corrosion resistant even without surface treatment, due to a natural layer of aluminium-oxide. The oxide layer can be regarded as a protective film that forms on aluminium when aluminium comes into contact with oxygen. This layer protects the aluminium surface against corrosion in the short run. In case of mechanical damage to the oxide layer, it will repair immediately in the presence of oxygen.

However, in acid environments additional surface treatment may be necessary. By either anodizing or pre-treatment by chromatizing and powder-coating all corrosion resistance classes can be achieved.

Galvanic corrosion is prevented by using galvanic isolation.
